Pre-Conditioning

Noise Cancellation is one of the first steps that we apply to improve our horizon and fault interpretations.

We design coherent and random noise filters to carefully remove the residual chatter often seen in the original seismic data volumes.

The filtered volumes show improved reflection continuity while preserving edges required for accurate fault interpretation and the identification of stratigraphic features.

We also examine the effects of Frequency Enhancement very early in the workflow. A shaping filter is interactively designed to create a target spectrum to boost frequencies within the usable bandwidth. The net effect is greater vertical resolution and improved horizon definition, without an increase in high-frequency noise.
